While many of us share a common vision for our community, it will take a strong, principled Assemblyman to help lead the fight for our neighborhoods in Carson City. Our next Assemblyman must be able to take a firm stand when there are tough decisions to be made. Louis DeSalvio will never waiver on his commitment to the people of Nevada, and will always make it a priority to fight for:
- EDUCATION - Lou's kids attend school in Clark County and he believes that improving our educational system here in Nevada should be our top priority. As your Assemblyman, Lou will devote the time and energy necessary to help our children receive the education they deserve.
"We must improve our education system for the future of our children and look at news ways to recruit teachers to teach in Nevada schools. We also need to maintain the funding our schools need to advance our dismal nationwide educational standings."
- INCREASING OUR WORKFORCE - Lou has experience creating new jobs for Nevadans, as well as establishing the training programs necessary to guarantee the success of Nevadans looking to build careers.
"We need elected officials to focus on creating educational pathways that will lead to stability through providing careers to our workforce rather than temporary jobs."
- ADDRESSING HOUSING FORECLOSURES - Lou believes it is the responsibility of our next Assemblyman to protect Nevadans from further foreclosures.
"We need to work with our banks to ensure Nevada families are able to stay in their homes during these difficult times."
- ASSISTING OUR VETERANS - Lou will make fighting for the rights of our veterans a priority in the Nevada Legislature.
"We need to protect the rights of our Nevada Veterans, ensuring that they receive the benefits and care they deserve for their commitment to our country."
- MAINTAINING OUR NEIGHBORHOODS - As your Assemblyman, Lou will work to provide solutions for the problems we face with streets and roads.
"We need to improve our transportation and cut down on traffic by streamlining construction on our roads, synchronizing our traffic lights, increasing the amount of bus cut outs on major cross sections of our district, and addressing the growing issue of saw-tooth streets in our growing neighborhoods."
